Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Aleflem application Qibla compass: prayer times (the “App”) collects, why it is collected, who it is shared with, and the choices available to you.

This policy replaces all previous versions. It reflects the fact that the App now displays third-party advertising, which involves the collection of certain data by our advertising partners.

1. Who we are

The App is developed and published by Aleflem. For any question regarding this policy or your data, contact us at support@aleflem.net.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide for App functionality

• Location. When you tap the “My Location” button, the App uses your device location to calculate the Qibla direction, prayer times, fasting times and Islamic dates. Location is used to perform these calculations and is not transmitted to us or stored on our servers.
• App preferences. Settings such as the selected city, calculation method and language are stored locally on your device.

2.2 Information collected automatically by our advertising partners

The App uses the Appodeal advertising mediation platform and its partner ad networks to display ads. To deliver, measure and report on those ads, these partners may collect:

• Advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID / GAID)
• IP address, and coarse location derived from it (typically country or region)
• Device and technical information — device model, manufacturer, operating system version, screen characteristics, language, time zone, network type and mobile carrier
• Advertising interaction data — which ads were requested, shown, viewed or clicked, and when
• App information — application identifier and version, and SDK version

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contact list, photos, files, or the contents of your communications.

4. Legal basis (EEA and UK users)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

• Consent — for personalised advertising and for the storing of, or access to, information on your device for advertising purposes. Consent is collected through a Consent Management Platform (CMP) shown when you first open the App, and can be changed or withdrawn at any time.
• Legitimate interests — for fraud prevention, security and basic, non-personalised ad delivery and measurement.
• Performance of the service — for the location-based calculations that are the core purpose of the App.

5. Sharing with third parties

Advertising in the App is mediated by Appodeal. Appodeal and the ad networks it connects to act as independent controllers or processors of the data described in section 2.2. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies.

Appodeal may pass your data to its demand partners, which currently include AppLovin, Unity Ads, ironSource, Liftoff/Vungle, BidMachine, Bigo Ads, Mintegral, InMobi, DT Exchange, myTarget and Yandex. The current list of Appodeal partners and their privacy policies is available within the Appodeal privacy policy linked above.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with any party other than as described in this section.

6. Your choices and rights

6.1 Advertising consent

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a jurisdiction with equivalent rules, a consent dialog is shown before advertising is initialised. You can review or change your choice at any time using the Privacy options entry in the App.

6.2 Advertising identifier

You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings, under Settings → Google → Ads, where you can also opt out of ad personalisation. Deleting the identifier prevents advertisers from linking future activity to previous activity.

6.3 Location

You can revoke the App’s location permission at any time in your device settings. The App remains usable; you will need to set your city manually.

6.4 Data protection rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. Because we do not hold identifying data about you ourselves, requests concerning advertising data should be directed to the relevant partner listed in section 5. You may also contact us at support@aleflem.net and we will assist where we can.

7. Data retention

Location data and App preferences remain on your device and are removed when you uninstall the App. Data collected by advertising partners is retained according to their own policies and retention periods, which are described in the privacy policies linked in section 5.

8. Security

Network requests made by the App and its advertising components are transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with such information, contact us at support@aleflem.net and we will take appropriate action.

10. International transfers

Our advertising partners operate globally, and the data described in section 2.2 may be processed in countries other than your own, including outside the EEA. Those transfers are carried out by the partners under the safeguards described in their own privacy policies.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Material changes affecting how your data is used will be reflected in the App and on this page.
